Central Area

Details:
The project for covering the pedestrian path forms part of the ambitious project of the "Área Central" Building, in the Fontiñas City (Spain). The covered pedestrian gallery is 685 meter long and 16 meter wide. The gallery acts as a link space between the different uses of the building: commercial, dwelling, and recreational.

The singular cover, designed by the architect Mª. José Hernando, has 100 pattern modules and 4 special solutions for the corners.

Each module is composed by a tubular structure with a piramidal shape. The roof cladding is made by security glass. The geometric configuration of the modules was designed to guarantee natural ventilation within the gallery..

The pyramidal shape choosen, which has several structural and functional advantages, and the combination of materials with different shapes and colours give beauty and originality to this gallery, as it can be seen in the photographs.
