Details:
Vallecas presented all the usual negative features of town planning when dealing with the growth and new developments within any big city: large public areas lacking the enviromental conditions needed by the general public as meeting points for leisure and entertainment.
Being concious of the fact that a thick wooded is the best choice for a urban public urban zone but that it would take between 15 to 20 years for the trees to grow sufficiently after planting, it was decided to take "emergency" action to provide an alternative solution that would offer the same conditions as the future wooded area.
Therefore, three structures or "air trees" with very simple air conditioning systems were installed which function as a wood would do. After 20 years or so, these devices can be dismantle leaving areas resembling clearings in a wood.
